Where "Ducatisti" come to meet.
2000 miles on a Hypermotard 1100
have 2000 miles on my HM1100.
first, i have owned Ducatis for 15 years.
second, this may be the best production bike Ducati has ever built.
third, it will take time for people to realize what Ducati has done here, partly cause it redefines how to ride fast.
simply an amazing machine. add the 2to1 full race exhaust and it just wants to jump out of your hands. you can go just as fast on the MH1100 as you can on any sport bike on public roads under 100mph and be twice as comfortable.
this is the bike you wanted, but did not know existed. confident enough to go really fast and leave you smiling every time, small enough to "command it", powerful enough to scare you, light enough to impress anyone.
bottom line: the spec sheet looks great, but it can not tell you this. the MH is more than the sum of its parts. this bike is better than you are, i defy anyone to ride this bike for 500 miles and not say the same thing. why 500 miles? cause if you are coming from sport bikes (like me) it took time for the MH1100 to teach me how to ride her. and now i get it. now i see. Ducati has reinvented and out done themselves in a single stroke, yet again.
